Kristen is a flutist, a singer, and a certified Human Software Engineer ( ConnectingToMe.com ), focusing her expertise on anxiety resolution, especially for performing artists. She has presented classes for the National Flute Association, the New York Flute Club, the Utah Flute Association, the Flute Society of Washington, and the Imani Winds Chamber Music Festival, and has taught at the Juilliard School, the Mannes School of Music, Columbia University, Rutgers University, the University of Utah, Mansfield University and the Hotchkiss School. She studied directly with Tom Stone, creator and developer of Human Software Engineering, which encompasses a wide range of applications including Core Dynamics Coaching, Allergy and ADD/ADHD debugging, Extraordinary Wellness, and Anxiety and Trauma Resolution.
As a flutist, Kristen Gygi has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the St. Louis Symphony, the Utah Symphony, the Oregon Symphony, the Charleston Symphony, the Sarasota Opera Orchestra and the Spoleto Festival Orchestra. She has performed as a soloist with the Utah Symphony, the St. Louis Conservatory Orchestra and the Intermountain Chamber Orchestra. She was principal flutist of the Sinfónica del Estado de Veracruz and Maestra de flauta at the Instituto Superior de Música del Estado de Veracruz in Xalapa, Mexico. Prior to that she served as principal flute of the New England Symphonic Ensemble, performing regularly in Carnegie Hall. She has performed chamber music throughout the United States, in Italy and in Russia. She also has extensive recording experience, and has played for numerous motion picture soundtracks. Kristen earned her Bachelor’s Degree at the St. Louis Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Jacob Berg. She earned her Master’s Degree from the Mannes College of Music in New York City, as a student of Keith Underwood. She lived in Salt Lake City for many years, where she served as president of the Utah Flute Association.
